As someone who really enjoys futuristic mysteries, the story immediately caught my attention because it offers something very different than the usual dystopian or technology-driven future. The discovery of Wakantankium is fascinating on its own, but really made the story stand out for me was the idea that this incredible resource isn't simply something waiting to be mined, sold, or controlled. It feels alive, and the families connection to it gives the mystery a spiritual dimension I wasn't expecting.

Hey especially enjoyed three siblings and the different rules they play. Tommy was probably the most intriguing to me because of his ability to understand what is happening beneath the earth almost as if he's communicating with it. The scenes involving him underground created some of the strongest tension.

TJ brings another interesting layer to the story so it has determination to make sure the wealth created by Wakantankium benefits the community instead of outside corporations. Hana's work as a healer in her vision for sovereign medical sanctuaries as yet another perspective. Together, they make the conflict feel much larger than simply stopping the bad guys

What surprised me most was how well the futuristic mystery blended with Lakota tradition in indigenous sovereignty. The story asks an interesting question: what happens when humanity discovers its greatest resource, but the people protecting it refuse to treat the land as something that can simply be owned?

There's plenty of action and suspense, but underneath it is a mystery surrounding Wakantankium itself. Is it simply an unusual natural element, or is there something more happening beneath the city?

That question kept me invested. The combination of futuristic technology, mystery, family, spirituality, corporate conspiracy, and a seemingly living earth made this a memorable read for me. 5 stars! I'm definitely interested in seeing where this series goes next.
